nSight Offers Free Webinar to Help Define, Measure Value of eLearning Programs

Feb. 17 session will address role of end users’ learning needs, how to justify the investment

Burlington, Mass., Nov. 11, 2010 – nSight Inc., a content development and communications services firm, will host a free eLearning webinar on Feb. 17 to help key decision makers define and measure the value of their online learning programs.

The complimentary discussion, which will be presented by nSight’s Vice President of eLearning Services Lee Stayton at 2 p.m. ET and titled “Value,” is the third webinar in a three-part series called “The Three Vs of Corporate eLearning Content: Vision, Velocity and Value.” Participation is not dependent on involvement in the series’ previous webinars; interested parties may register and obtain login information by visiting the event registration site.

“It’s difficult to quantify the value of eLearning with traditional methodologies. These programs are not like conventional learning, where you have a linear educational process and a test, or a numeric outcome at the end to measure your success,” said Stayton. “In order to understand the value that your eLearning program brings to your organization, you must first consider your audience’s learning needs and the context in which those needs are presented. It’s a simple concept, but it’s often overlooked or misinterpreted by those who are charged with developing eLearning programs.”

Stayton said the webinar is geared toward executive decision-makers, training and development managers, interactive media specialists, product and marketing managers, and other employees who have been tasked to develop, launch, and maintain a corporate eLearning program.

In this webinar, he will discuss:

  • What is meant by “value”
  • How to relate the value of eLearning to your vision and the problem analysis
  • How to foster mutual understandings of value
  • The location of eLearning and its value in and around your organization
  • The “soft” and emerging impacts of eLearning
  • How to justify the investment in eLearning
