nSight Becomes First Company to Provide Free Training When Clients Use Staffing Services
HireReturnssm Highlights Need for New Model in Staffing Industry
BURLINGTON, MAOctober 1, 2002nSight, Inc., a leading provider of staffing and training services for creative, editorial, and technical communications professionals, today introduced HireReturnssm, a ground-breaking initiative that addresses the need for a new staffing industry model.
Beginning October 1, 2002, any client that uses nSight's permanent staffing service will receive free custom on-site training equivalent to the fee paid for nSight's staffing service – a dollar-for-dollar match up to $10,000. Any client that uses nSight's temporary staffing service will receive free admission to an nSight workshop for every 100 billable hours of staffing used. Both offers are open to new and existing clients, but new clients using temporary staffing services will also receive a free workshop with their first order.
"The economy is causing two problems for HR managers – staffing is more time consuming, because managers typically receive hundreds of resumes for every opening, and training budgets have been slashed," according to Philip J. Sullivan, nSight's Vice President of Recruitment and Placement. "HireReturns addresses both issues. We can save managers the many hours it typically takes to find the best job candidate – and we provide free training, too."
He added that the combination of staffing and training addresses recruitment and retention simultaneously, since training can help companies retain their most talented employees, while enhancing their skills.
"nSight's offering of free training courses with a successful placement is ingenious,"," said analyst Carol Baroudi, president of the Baroudi Group. "Because nSight has consistently found solutions for clients' diverse documentation needs for two decades, it is uniquely positioned to offer a lot more value than a traditional staffing firm. This creative differentiator is exactly the kind of innovation that's needed when businesses must stretch every dollar to the max."
Certificates for free training can be used by anyone in the company; they don't have to be used by employees hired through nSight. nSight's training workshops, which can be customized to meet specific client needs, cover topics such as single sourcing, XML, publishing for the Web, and writing and editing for international audiences. nSight is a Certified Provider member of the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), which allows nSight to offer continuing education units (CEUs) to students who successfully complete the company's training workshops.
Sullivan said nSight's decision to introduce HireReturns reflects changes taking place in the industry because of economic instability and reduced staffing needs.
"To survive," he said, "staffing companies must provide clients with a complete staffing solution. That means providing permanent and temporary staffing; training, so companies can continuously upgrade their existing staff; and project management for companies that prefer to outsource."
While nSight believes it is the only company in its industry that offers all of these services, Sullivan said several factors will drive an industry shift toward nSight's model:
The Internet is making traditional staffing firms obsolete,
The soft economy is forcing many staffing firms out of business,
More companies are outsourcing noncore competencies,
The speed of technological development is making ongoing training essential.
"As the industry shifts, staffing companies will have to offer creative solutions like HireReturns," Sullivan said. "If nSight followed the traditional staffing model of just placing bodies behind desks, we might be out of business instead of celebrating our twentieth anniversary."
Using its full-service model, nSight can adapt to changing client needs and shifting economic conditions. Most importantly, though, the client benefits from a flexible service that helps HR managers address concerns created by today's economic conditions.
"HireReturns can make heroes out of HR managers – and save them time," Sullivan concluded.
